Ochsner Health System - in Covington and Slidell, Louisiana are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Board Certified/Board Eligible HEMATOLOGIST/ONCOLOGIST to join its expanding practice to serve as SECTION HEAD.

Ochsner Cancer Institute is an integrated, multi-site cancer program that spans the entire state of Louisiana and extends along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. With a core philosophy of multi-disciplinary, coordinated care, our community based medical and radiation oncologists in the North Shore region work closely with subspecialty experts from Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, our academic flagship, to deliver evidence-based, high quality care, clinical research, and an optimal patient experience across the system. Integration with the disease specific teams and clinical research programs in New Orleans is achieved through a combination of outreach clinics, virtual care, and the potential to work with fellows and trainees in the outpatient setting at OMC. We seek an experienced medical oncologist to lead our North Shore team, with a practice focused on a new cancer center in Covington, LA, in partnership with St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

The North Shore Section Head of Hematology/Oncology will partner with system and local leaders in a matrix fashion to lead quality, safety, operations, care coordination, and patient experience initiatives for the outpatient clinic and infusion areas, in alignment with service line and organizational initiatives. The successful candidate will have experience working within a health care system and a commitment to improving the cancer-related outcomes for patients in his/her/their community. The Section Head will lead outreach efforts to primary care and the community to address screening and disparities, leveraging the strengths of an integrated health system to optimize cancer outcomes. Importantly, the Section Head will maintain an active clinical practice focused on hematology/oncology, joining an established but growing group with whom the Section Head would share hospital call and consultative duties. Subspecialty interest is encouraged, but not required.
