Duties and Responsibilities | Pre-College positions require the ability to work independently, be a positive and enthusiastic mentor for students, be flexible in order to best meet student needs and be willing to be part of a dynamic team of creative and energetic individuals. Opening for an English teacher or career counselor to lead UB and UBMS seniors' Goaltending project, a personal development, college preparation, and career awareness program. |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Bachelor's degree and prior teaching experience in respective discipline and related experience with student or community groups that address issues affecting low-income and minority populations. Precollege positions require a strong interest in interdisciplinary curriculum. |
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Master's Degree preferred. Experience working with low-income, and/or students who will be the first in their family to attend college strong classroom management skills Candidates who have overcome and/or experience similar socio-economic backgrounds to the TRIO Upward Bound student population including low-income, first-generation (to go to college) will receive priority consideration |
