Position Summary:

In the Business Intelligence (BI) Developer II position, you'll utilize your expertise in data analysis and Power BI to empower data driven decisions across the organization. You'll play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of self-service analytics and ensuring the effective utilization of our BI tools. Additionally, you'll lead initiatives to evolve our BI ecosystem, staying abreast of the latest developments in Power BI and driving process improvements. The reports and insights generated by you will directly contribute to both operational efficiencies and strategic decision-making within the organization

What You'll Do and Impact:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to equip analysts with the skills needed for independent report authoring in Power BI.

  • Provide ongoing mentorship and support to analysts, offering guidance and feedback in report creation and data visualization techniques.

  • Take a proactive role in creating key reports that provide critical insights for organizational decision-making.

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in Power BI and other BI tools, driving initiatives to enhance our BI ecosystem's efficiency.

  • Monitor BI system health and performance, implementing measures for scalability and reliability.

  • Create and maintain large-scale BI solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, and internal tools.

  • Assess customer needs and validate requirements to ensure effective solution derivation.

  • Manage customer expectations and prioritize tasks, ensuring timely product delivery.

  • Perform comprehensive data analysis to address strategic business questions.

  • Optimize business logic through complex T-SQL query authoring.

  • Support customer business intelligence requests and implement system enhancements.

  • Assist in managing logical data layers following industry best practices.

  • Plan, design, and implement Business Intelligence projects.

  • Monitor and proactively resolve technical issues, providing second-tier support.

  • Review BI team development for accuracy and performance, supporting team members as needed.

  • Align technical BI development with business objectives and communicate approach to customers.

  • Format and present reporting solutions and findings to customers, providing necessary training and documentation.

  • Provide support for ad-hoc BI solutions and collaborate with other IT functional areas for problem-solving.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Systems, MIS, Database, Engineering, or a related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in Microsoft Power BI. Of the 3-5 years of database reporting experience, a minimum of 2 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server applications.

  • Advanced proficiency in utilizing relational databases.

  • Advanced ability to write commands in T-SQL to extract data from relational databases (i.e., stored procedures, views, functions, derived tables, complex joins, etc.).

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel (i.e., formulas, formatting, pivot tables, macros, etc.).

Additional Items of Interest:

  • Experience coordinating projects, understanding requirements, creating milestones, and managing resources to obtain a desired result.

  • Experience utilizing AI tools for productivity and efficiency gains

  • AWS
